Guide Review - eMachines T2542

eMachines is a company that specializes in low cost computer systems. Their latest T2542 budget desktop system set a few benchmarks for other venders to follow for this holiday season. Most notably, it was the first budget system to be announced to ship with 256MB of memory, something that others quickly started to offer. Another major feature is the fast Intel Celeron 2.5 GHz processor. This should provide sufficient power for most PC applications. The 48x CD-RW drive allows for data storage and music CD burning. The big area where the T2542 has problems is the software. It only ships with MS Works 6.0 software bundle compared to the 2003 version that many venders carry. It also lacks an AGP slot for video expansion.
